So not quite a barn find more a bush find. Been helping a family member clear out a relatives property. Didn't realise the scale of retrieving this Rover and in all honesty I only want to pull the engine from it. Once I got close to it most of the bits are salvageable but I doubt the car would ever drive again. Typical me though, turns up in shorts to go climbing through brambles =)) Be a shame to scrap it. Anyone who might want to save this poor rover give me a PM or call me.

I had the 2600 straight 6cylinder auto, I was only 20 and thought they were great, the interior was something else at the time. However only had it for around a year and it became the deposit for our 1st house. Looking back it was a pig of a car leaked like sieve and was a bus to drive, self levelling shocks gave out and cost a fortune to replace, typical British leyland build quality - rubbish! You do not see many on the roads these days though!

You know you've spent too much time parking with your girlfriend when you look out the window and:..............

A bit of spit and polish and it'll soon be looking like new again

I bet the local rodent population will have done for much of the wiring and other soft bits. You never know though - some avid collector or somebody doing a renovation might snap it up.

They are a lump of a car. Great find though.
