Just grabbed my handbook from the car, and the first two digits are usually the table number - but I can't see a table labelled 03. There is a table labelled "Table 03 and Table 38". Do you have the numbers the right way around?

Table 38, code 3 is "Supply voltage"

Thanks Gaz, the 03 comes up first, press the button again and get 38,

Could be 3B mate, have you got the link, I am almost certain that the fault lies with the passenger side even though I don't have a passenger air bag.

Did you disable the N/S occupancy sensor Sean?

Tony.

Yes mate, that was the last fault that I had, all it took was to disconnect the occupancy mat in the passenger seat, this fault occured shortly after Molly had raised the seat to its max height,

You could try (with the key out of the ignition) unplugging the wiring under the N/S seat and reconnecting them, then switch ignition on and see if the cars self test puts it out. This worked for me on an old Freelander last week at work.

I've had airbag codes on mine over the years once during warrenty and they just reset it and said if it comes back on we'll replace the pass seatbelt pertentioner. It didn't come back on again for five years and the code reader I have didn't really give me very much info as to the fault, it took me four attempts to reset it but it's now been out for three years. I'd reset it and see if it comes on again.

It wouldn't re-set Steve, we tried today. Sean's car doesn't have a N/S airbag, so no pre tensioner.

It does have a pretensioner mate.
I misheard then Sean, so it could be the pre tensioner although I don't understand why it has one unless it fires off the O/S system?

Surely it should still have the pretensioner for the seat belt? you would see the cylinder down the side of the seat?
connections under the seat are for the mat and a pretensioner.
I would just say solder the connections or bullet joint them together.
They are on connector blocks as I bought the loom adapters from BMW when I put the sport seats in

the connections are notorious for putting a fault on when slightly disturbed. It only take a millisecond with the ignition on for it to flag a fault up.
It won't clear though pal, so hopefully I will find one thats not in properly

Mine has done it a couple of times recently when moving the seat. It disturbs the wire at the rear of the seat going into the belt pre tensioner I can wiggle and wiggle it and it will keep coming back on, then I tucked it more up into the back of the seat and it finally reset. Its probably just been disturbed after moving the seat, check the connections as said and just try and move it around and it should clear.
