Autumn colours

Nice shotsWell as the Z was already plastered decided go for a bit of a blast round the Chilton's. So on with the bobble hat and of we go. The colour`s are amazing this time of year so here is a little share.
Great photos, don't the local authorities around your way clean that stuff up?....

There doesn`t seem to be a POTM at the moment.
Quite the opposite for me Jim, I prefer spring when everything is turning green and fresh. Autumn is the polar opposite everything dying back, dark nights very little sun, so depressing. SADS is real.
I do like the colours though!Tony.

I have to agree Hugh, it's the colours, but the autumn colours don't last as the spring ones do. On the A57 into Lincoln each side of the road is planted with Daffodils and around Easter time both sides of the road are lined with yellow and when I see these I think Spring is here and Summer is on it's way. Even when the Daff's die back the rest of the natural world is waking up, fills you with optimism. I hate going to work in the dark and getting home in the dark. When Spring comes I start thinking "Roof down ?"

cant believe some folk, personally i like autumn too but wouldn't have admitted this on a convertible roadster forum, surely the spring is the start of top down driving

@littlefeller, in a country where we have 4 very distinct seasons that vary from one another drastically autumn is by far my favourite. Didn't say I didn't enjoy the other three but winter brings piles of snow, plugging in vehicles block heaters and hoping something will start when temps are -40 or worse so it doesn't really endear itself! Spring is the beginning of new life, I agree, but until spring clean up has been completed is a very dirty time of the year with all the salt and gravel/sand needed to keep roadways safe showing it's ugly face along with all the garbage inconsiderate people have thrown from their vehicles. Summer brings the sun along with the violent thunderstorms, tornadoes and +30c heat which doesn't make top down driving very attractive while you try to sleep as your skin literally falls off your body. Whereas autumn brings lower temps, beautiful colours and peaceful top down driving without the traffic of summer. Hope this explains why I love Fall! JIM
Totally understand your reasoning Jim, but that's where you live! Seasons are more seperate than ours which nowadays just seem to mingle and merge together. Spring time is always my favourite all the same. Hope winter is as good as last year for you.

Yeah @t-tony, I just wanted to point that out about the four seasons as not everyone has an understanding of how definite and distinct they are to many of us that live in other sections of the world!! I also hope this winter is as good as last year which was sooo different from the one previous where we had more snow than ever in my 68 yrs. last year we had a lot of -40 -50 days but if the wind isn't blowing can be so nice to be out in.
