Hi all,

Just to say the issue with the images not displaying in the articles has now been fixed. I've checked through some articles randomly but if you spot any which still don't display give me a shout.

Cheers, Gaz

@g8jka - this is the thread about some images hosted externally no working correctly. Looking at Gookahs progress thread he has a mixture of working and none working images.

This is a link to one of your none working images
Gookah - Doesn't load
Gookah - Does load
When you are logged in to Flickr, is there just the one IMG link available or can you see one starting farm4?

I may have to open a flickr account and see what's what on there. It's only a workaround for now though, as it affects other image hosts...

Hi Gary
I have just looked and, as you say, it seems that all the ones not showing do not have the 'farm' addition in the BB Code.
When I go to select BB code from Flickr there is only a choice of sizes, and all sizes i picked now have the farm addition.

However on checking my previous posts it seems now if i pick the BB code for the same image as before, it now has the farm addition but more importantly the rest of the code address is also different., so we can't just add 'farm**' into the link

I will try and post the new code and the old code for the same image:

latest code just picked (shortened so it will show up in the text)
://farm1.staticflickr.com/669/22632073882_2b471ad822_k.jpg[/img]

previous posted code for same image
//c1.staticflickr.com/1/669/22632073882_d7ac0f1cc7_o.jpg

and the actual result:

the second (without farm) stills show red cross.

Now I don't know why it changed, and there was no notification, nor do I know why the image still shows in the edit window ?
Looks like I will have to renew all links for the photos again.....

I reckon its something to do with forum software on here after the last update.
When I have been linking to things lately, if I check 'Preview' post, all is OK.
Post it up and you get
so I just hard delete the posts adding the comment "No Photo".

It should work with either version of the link, and as I mentioned this is a workaround for Flickr only. I’m reasonably sure it started with the last update but can’t be sure, and I’ve had a chat with one of the developers. I may have to have get the guy who does the updates to have a look, as it seems to be a server issue rather than the software.

Don’t do that any more Mike, it’s something that will get fixed and the images will get displayed correctly.

I only do it with my own posts, not other members.
Its strange, some stuff I rip off the web is fine but other stuff not.
Posting direct from my own photo files, no problem.

^if I look at the url of the images, it seems that the forum uses a proxy to cache the images. Is that correct?

If that's the case, it might even be that images can work some time untill the proxy starts to cache (and change the url's in the posts to the proxy url?) and then it stops working? All images in my post worked at first and then it stopped...

And I wonder is the problem only present for jpg encoded images or are png's etc also affected?
