Any idea what this is for?

This sleeve was in the back of my z4 2013. It is empty and it is not the case for the warning triangle as that is under the boot lid. Is it a random sleeve or did it come with the car? If so what was its purpose ? Pictures attached. Thanks Guys for your help

Its the holder for the wind deflector that folds in half when its removed.
