MOT done today, passed:thumbsup: but with a couple of advisories:(. 'Offside front and rear direction indicator slightly discoloured'. So do I just replace the bulbs or go LED? Does anyone know if you can get LED indicators that don't need ballast resistors?

Cheers, thanks Steve. I was hoping the technology has moved on so they would be a straight swap;)

The brightest on the market is the cree type rated at 80w they are well bright enough but current draw is not enough for the flasher unit to operate. Zed flasher got about 6 pins couldn't find an electronic one to replace the standard thermal one

No you can't because the flasher "can" will go mental Dave. Ballasts are dead easy to wire in though. Easy fix is obviously new bulbs mate. Your choice ......;)

Tony.

i've replaced all of my indicator bulbs with LEDs and modified my flasher relay to make them work without the need for nasty resistors.

see my build thread for details. if you are handy with a soldering iron i can send you the part you need as i have a few left.

i did this as i dont like the chrome bulbs as they still look slightly orange.
