SUBTITLED: WHERE DID YOU SAY MY CAR WAS?????
Hugh sent me off with directions on where to meet Gary. You must remember that up to this point, I really hadn't done much driving. I only drove about 2 or 3 hours on the way to Hugh's house. He had met me at a car park where I had left my car. We did this because I had to come back the same way to go to Gary's place. Or at least Hugh didn't have to worry about me driving around his town putting he and his family and all his neighbors in needless danger. Good thinking. So after he dropped me back off at the car park, I was on my way to Gary. Hugh gave me excellent directions. However, I still was not used to going around the round abouts. When taking the third exit, I always stayed in the outside lane. I found that this didn't work sometimes because the third lane pealed off at the second exit leaving only the inner two lanes to continue on to the third exit. When I stayed on the inside lanes, I couldn't get off the third exit because of new traffic entering from the first two exits I passed. Gary was waiting for me at a Pub whose entrance I could acquire by taking the third exit on a certain round about. I was driving a red VW Golf. I had picked a red car so that people looking for me could spot me easily. And so it was, as Gary watched me enter the round about. Except that I missed the third exit and continued to the next exit which sends me back in the direction from which I came. Gary calls Hugh: "I think I just saw Frankie's car but I'm not sure its him. He went the wrong way!!". My phone rings. Its Hugh. "Hey Frankie, I think you just passed Gary". Frankie: "No Kidding?".I end up driving an extra 5 miles to get back to the same round about. THEY'RE NOT GOING TO GET ME THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I muscle my way out to the exit and take it, turning into the Pub's car park. Gary is out of his car and runs up to my car introducing himself. But we first have a good laugh about what just happened. I ended up spending too short of a time with Gary as he's a real nice guy and we both find it easy laughing about the same things. It was if I had known him most of my life. I already know I'll miss him.........
