Hi all,
I've replaced my centre console with a brushed aluminum unit from 2002 Sport model (my car is a 98 2.8 with the On Board Computer).
So I now have the new style buttons along with the analogue clock.
The clock from the donor car did not seem to work when in it was in the donor car (no lights and not moving) so I got another from a breakers that supposedly worked.
However upon fitting it it does not light up nor does it make any movement (cannot even set it using the set time buttons).
So either my car is not wired for it or the second clock is also faulty.
I am using this connector from the car which fits fine and is the only one that can fit as far as I can find in the loom (plenty of other spare plugs in there...!).
It has 2 wires and 3 pins. The clock has input for 3 pins:
I have checked my fuses and the car has a fuse for a 'clock' as well as the OBC.
I tried taking out the fuse to disable to the OBC and see if it affects anything but no change on the clock (but the fuel garage showed empty when it has fuel in it).
I do not have the OBC anymore so nothing is plugged in it place.
Could it be the lack of OBC causing issues? I read on another thread here (with the aftermarket factor dials) that unplugging it can cause issues.
Is there a way I can test this clock to rule out the clock being faulty?
Any help appreciated.
Ps what are all these extra connectors for in the loom that I found tucked under the carpet:
I already am using the heated seats plugs, have Ac, HRW, ASC, headlight adjusters...
What else are these cars wired for?
