Hi Everyone,

Finally got a replacement Z3 after mine was sadly written off with oil sump damage. I had some very nice 18" wheels on the old car and I was wondering if anyone could give me an indication of what type they are ? They were spilt rims and the closest id I have managed to get was a BBS type RS744 We would like to keep to genuine if possible ? I love my replacement Z3 but would like different wheels. Thank you for your possible help and here's to a sunny summer !

Hi Lesley,

Sad news about your previous Zed going to the scrapyard, but you have another so that's even better news!

There weren't any 18's fitted to the Z3 from the factory, but that doesn't mean they didn't come off another BMW model though. Personally I haven't seen anything like those on a BMW before, and would suggest they are not original BMW issue.

Hope that helps?!

Gary

Hi Gary,
Thank you very much for the reply, I was gutted when they said it was a write off and as it was going to be a cat c repair I took the money and vowed to get a another. I have been looking for E36 wheels is there another model I could look at for the same fitment that will have staggered possibilities ? I understand this is the way to go. Cheers Les

Hi Lesley,

You can pretty much fit any 3 (E36/E46) series, 1 series & Z4 (E85/E86 - not the latest version) wheel on a Z3. Z3M wheel fitment can be made to fit, but best staying away from M sizes

I've bought my current 18" wheels from this guys before http://bmautosport.com/ and he has a large selection of wheels which will fit. He's also really responsive to questions as well.

Cheers, Gary

Thank you, however after looking at various websites selling this model of wheel, it looks like they won't fit the car. Seems strange as they obviously fitted in some way on the old one but they don't list these as suitable for our new Z3 ?

Hi everyone this seems a little strange but the RS JK5 18" should fit the new car a little phoning around to check me thinks. I have found on searching the net other little cars have had these on and it does not seem to be an issue I will let you know how I get on shortly fingers crossed. I even found the original post from the guy who actually placed the wheels on the car .

Give Rimstyle a call they are very helpful. I bought a set of these for the Z4 but they came with dents, so they went back and i went for the Cades Tyrus instead. The Inovit DTMs you may struggle to get (i had these on our Z3) and they were excellent, mozza now has them on his Z4. I do prefer them to the Cades though.

I have just emailed them with the link of the original car thread with the details so hopefully they will come back with an answer soon. Les
