Shelly most of the modern air con machines are like a washing machine they have 4 cycles.
1. Drain
All old gases and oil removed.
2. Vacuum.
The system get put into a state of Vacuum usually for about 20 minutes.
3. Leak.
System then gets leak tested takes about 10 minutes to make sure holding the Vacuum.
4. Charge.
If all checks passed then system will be filled will new oil and gas.
After this if system full again and aircon turns out not working there will be a mechanical issue ( compressor fault) or electrical issue ( sensor or wiring fault)
But I'm sure it will just never been gassed and low or none left.
If it fails the leak test it will need a dye test ( where an amount of gas with a uv dye is added system ran to locate leak with uv lamp then system drain again.
If it does have a leak most likely place will be the condenser at the front they can get hit by stones etc through the front grille areas.
