97' Z3 M44 to M52B28

Hey guys,

I have a 97' Z3 that is now begging for a 6 Cylinder implant

I was hoping to place a M52B28 Single Vanos in it. I have a friend that has done this swap with a 316 Compact and would love to know if its the same process with a Z3?

Also what other parts would I need? And do they need to be Z3 specific???

My friends have done plenty of M4X to M52 swaps but only on E36 and E36 Compacts...

I am in Australia where 2.8 Z3s are wildly expensive and my Z3 has had a bit of money spent on it so "just buy a 2.8" is out of the question

Hello, the Z3 is a parts bin. Most of them come from the E36 in the front and E30 in the rear.
Www.realoem.com will be your guide, just pick both models and make your list of parts from there. Pressing the hyperlinks on any part number will tell you what other models use it and it will be fairly easy to find at the junkyards, most of them used to be around for many years in many models.
