Sites often have a lot of members but the regulars are a lot less. Prob a hundred or so.

Absolutely right @M666BMG it's unfortunate that so many members fall by the wayside for whatever reasons. It would be interesting to hear from those members that check in once in a while to keep up with what's going on with the group! They possess a lot of knowledge and ideas which are lost to newer members because they just read and dart off without comment! So although 3000+ members appears great on the surface it is a very small core of members that are responsible for keeping the posts coming and every one that posts gives me something to think about and I don't believe there has been a day that I haven't learned something new! Hope we don't get a in flux of people wanting to use the site at the same time :p
Just imagine what would happen if we all came on here at the same time :)
It would be chaos :ymdevil:

Thanks for posting this up @Low Rider, it's nice to see that people find indicators of growth as a positive thing! Forums are what they are, and there will be a continual churn of members. We also struggle against sites like Facebook which is causing a general decline in numbers throughout forums on all subjects. The fact we are still growing is awesome considering this.

As for stats you can read them anyway you want, and I posted up accurate figures a few weeks back.

You must be proud Gaz to have such a membership.
I'm just happy that people keep turning up and want to get involved, whether that's as much as organising a cruise or even just reading up on some of the techy stuff. Every visitor gets something different from each visit, and it's good that we can provide a diverse experience :)

I feel I'm helping here Gaz, I don't do FB. Seriously though, the thing that's in our favour is a common love and interest in these great cars which is missing on a more general thing like Facebook in my opinion. Some will come and some will go but something must be right for .org to buck the trend. Thanks to all you guys that run and moderate the forum.

No comment from me on that other than, very different sites, with very different members. I enjoy both, signed up for .net for advice on the rear camber on my Z3 Coupe years ago and have stayed an active member ever since, personal circumstances mean I rarely post much on either site, or indeed Z3mcoupe.com, or pistonheads, all forums I used to use on a daily basis, things change.

Point taken Andy, very true re different sites/people. You rarely see much mirth over there though is all was referring to there.;)
