For Sale due to health reasons, my 2001 Dakar Yellow 2.2i Sport with just over 80k miles. FSH and £2k spent on parts by myself over the past 12 months.
The car is well known to this site and has the following features:-
Dakar Gelb bodywork
Electric Hood
Electric Heated seats
Air-conditioning
Cruise control
17inch wheels
Wind deflector
Original business radio cassette with multi CD in the boot
Sport suspension from factory
Full service history
Current MOT until July - will be sold with a full 12 months if the full price is paid
In the last year considerable mechanical refurbishment has been undertaken with the following work completed:-
New Tyres
New discs, Pads, mounting kits and rubber part replacements front and rear
New handbrake shoes and mounting kits
Both camshaft sensors replaced
Intake rubber tubing (boots from MAF to Throttle body) replaced with new
Throttle body, Dipstick, Intake and fuel injector rubber O rings replaced
Engine breather system complete replaced
Plastic Intake manifold motorised flap upgraded with new aluminium kit
New plugs, oil, air and fuel filters
All fluids replaced (Engine (twice), gearbox, diff, brake & clutch, Power steering, coolant) Engine oil flushed and Cataclean treatment for injector system.
New thermostat and housing fitted
New Battery
New Engine undertray fitted
New wiper blades fitted
New bootlid gas struts fitted
Lots of other smaller items (door handle surrounds, rear wing aerial rubber grommet etc).
The car has had two full services in my ownership (before each trip to Europe) and runs superbly. The bodywork is generally in very good condition for its age and shines beautifully in the sunshine....you cannot be shy in a yellow zed.
The roof is in very good condition and is waterproof - cleaned and treated last year - it does have a couple of wear marks but nothing serious and has years of life remaining. The rear window is clear and ok as far as plastic rear windows go!
The car is a fantastic touring and fun car, fit and ready for this season. Price is £4100 (n.b. the bills for parts alone last year are £2k)
