Hi everyone! Currently looking to complete a couple of modifications to my 2000 M Roadster (s52) to hopefully bring the car to an oem+ level. Not in it for crazy HP gains or to take the car to the track, but I would like to make it a fun backroad cruiser.
Lmk your thoughts:
1. Dinan CAI vs. Gruppe M intake
- Would like to add an intake to the car purely for induction noise. That said, the options are extremely limited in the US. I've narrowed it down to a Dinan intake which is 360 dollars or something like that on their website. The only problem is it's listed on the site as compatible for the e36 m3 only, but I've seen countless M roadsters with these intakes. Will the Dinan e36 m3 CAI fit an M roadster? Any thoughts on how the Dinan product compares to Gruppe M? The latter option is double the price but could be worth it if the sound is drastically different.
2. UUC EVO 3 shifter vs. stock shifter with ZHP knob vs. CAE centered shifter
All options are at different price points and provide different levels of drivability but would like to hear any thoughts on which won't be too harsh for everyday street use but will provide an increased level of feeling and smoother shifts.
3. KW V1 or TC kline single adjustable
From what I've been able to find, there are a couple of different suspension options available on the market. The most popular seems to be the Bilstein/h & r or Koni yellow combination. That said, I have read great reviews about the TC Kline products for the z3 and also the KW V1 system - not sure if v2 or v3 fit or is available for the M Roadster anymore. Any opinions on the two products?
4. Recaro Sportser Seats - Houndstooth interior
Came across some Recaro Sportster seats with Houndstooth inserts that I think would look sweet in the car. Definitely an expensive purchase at 2500 dollars a seat, but could be what I'm looking for as I would like a little more legroom in the car if possible. If I decided on this route, what's the best option for mounting brackets, as I know there's a slight angle from the factory.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post just would like to figure this out before purchasing anything!
