eBay 2.2 not Sport

hi all,

I have my eye on a 2.2 up in Birmingham (Solihull) and looking to see it Thursday. I have advice from you guys and girls already so think I know what to look for. A little nervous as don't want to drive miles and either find it's awful or pick up what I think suits my needs but pick up a money pit.

Anyone free to give a little one to one advice?

MOT history check first should show up any issues ie rust. Ask for photographs of the underside. Check rear wings and sills for small rust scabs, check oil is clean, check service history, check leaks on undertrays, check car runs well and does not overheat. Check for smoke form exhaust when warm, check tyres are all the same make, go thorough service history carefully, check log book, check she drives well and finally check the owner !. Carefull loving owner or just careless

First impressions look good. I would have a guess and say its an individual with that brown interior. The area the car is in looks presentable as well as the adverts not been written by a 5 year old. The wife has a 2.2 and personally love the engine. A common issue is oil usage, some do use a bit of oil from month to month, ask him about that. Check the carpets under the mats for any water ingress. Other than that as said above do a background check and check it's MOT history. Buy on condition.

P.S Not marked as stolen or ever been written off. not listed as sport.

Good question !

The picture is me sitting on boxes of about 1500 brand new Cisco phones. It was taken at work before I had them installed across the UK.

The picture was titled either

'Game of Phones' or 'Throne of Phones'

I never had the pleasure of Alcatel products. I was a Nortel (Anaya blue !) person before going C**co. Although my last job was at a cloud voip company. Was good product just didn't like the (US west coast) hours I had to keep.

Btw @DaveP I have 3x 2.2 project cars I'm currently working on. They will all be very nice cars when completed.

I have to move on 2 of the 3 and it's likely to be the 2x Topaz Blues and I'll keep the Titan Silver which is the subject of my engine replacement thread.

Both the Topaz Blues are Sports. Both of them are decent and 1 of them is truly a little stunner. That one just needs a wiring fault resolved which I'll have an update on after Friday when the auto spark comes in.

I can sell either car with or without the mrscalex love package. I.e. With all the usual issues sorted and serviced etc. Having said that the nicer of the 2 wants for little anyway.

I went for the 2.2 that needs a little TLC but that's what I wanted. A 'project' car I can focus on over the winter months. I may be bothering you about spares though
